During the June 6, 2022 meeting, the Aurora R-VIII Board of Education hired Dr. Karla Shiveley as the High School principal for the 2022-2023 school year.  Dr. Shiveley is currently working for the Willard School District and has twenty-three years in education.  Previously, she taught in the Aurora R-VIII School District from 2004 to 2015 (receiving teacher of the year at the Junior High in 2008 and at the High School in 2010 and 2011).  Dr. Shiveley obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Missouri State University, and her doctorate from Evangel University.  She also works as an adjunct instructor for Drury University.
