Pate School Assistant Principal Jessica Pitchford

Aurora R8 is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Jessica Pitchford as the new Assistant Principal of Pate Early Childhood Center. Mrs. Pitchford will join the leadership team and work alongside staff and families to support the district’s continued commitment to student success, strong relationships, and a positive school culture.

Mrs. Pitchford brings 17 years of experience in public education. She spent 16 years in the Republic School District as a Kindergarten teacher and most recently served as a School Community Liaison in Springfield Public Schools. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to early childhood education, instructional leadership, and supporting the whole child.

Outside of her professional role, Mrs. Pitchford values time with her family. She and her husband, Robert, have been married for 19 years and live on a cattle farm outside of Republic. They have two daughters, Jayma and Jayla Mae, who are both active in softball and enjoy spending time outdoors. Mrs. Pitchford also enjoys baking, reading, and being with her family.

“I am honored to be joining the Aurora School District as the Assistant Principal of Pate Early Childhood Center. I look forward to becoming part of the Aurora community and value the district’s close-knit, community-centered feel and commitment to student success. Aurora’s focus on collaboration and student growth aligns with my own philosophy of education. I am eager to contribute my experience in instructional leadership and positive behavior support to help maintain a safe, high-achieving environment where all learners feel valued,” said Mrs. Pitchford.

Pate Early Childhood Center Principal Christy Heinrichs shared her excitement about the addition to the team, stating, “I am excited to welcome Mrs. Jessica Pitchford as our new Assistant Principal at Pate Early Childhood Center. She brings valuable experience in early childhood education, a passion for rural communities, and a contagious energy that will positively impact our students, staff, and families. I am confident this partnership will make a meaningful difference, and I am honored to have her join the Pate family.”
