As you know, the closure of school due to the COVID-19 health pandemic has been extended through April 24, 2020.  This decision was based on recommendations from both the Lawrence County and Barry County Health Departments.  In light of this development, teachers are currently creating a second resource packet that will be available for pickup beginning Monday, April 6, 2020.

Pickup time will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the front loop of each building.   After April 6, packets for students in preschool through 8th grade will be available daily at the front entryway of each building during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Packets will be the same as those distributed on April 6, 2020 so there is no need to get additional packets.  For High School students or students who receive special education services, a call must be made to Central Office at 417-678-3373 for the pickup of packets.

Keep in mind these packets are not required and no grades will be taken.  Instead, they are resources for students and parents regarding skills and concepts previously taught to help solidify student understanding.  Questions have been asked regarding why new material is not being provided.  This is due to guidance from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Videoconferencing will also be available starting the week of April 6, 2020.  If parents do not want their child or children to participate, please call the Central Office to ensure they do not take part.  We will compile a list of the students opting-out to provide to teachers.

As of now, the grading period for second semester ended on Thursday, March 12, 2020.  These grades will be consistent with the progress reports disseminated during spring parent/teacher conferences.  Teachers from the High School will be communicating with their students regarding resubmitting or making up work from earlier in the second semester.  The goal is to help students improve their grades if possible.

All teachers have been asked to conduct weekly check-ins with students to help in areas of need and to obtain input on information that is being provided.   Your feedback is important to us.  Please let us know if there is anything unclear or uncertain during these check-in times.

Weekly food distribution will continue through April 24, 2020.  Pickup times are from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily at the Robinson Elementary entry.  Please note that there will be no distribution on Friday, April 10, 2020 and Monday, April 13, 2020 due to this originally being scheduled as Easter Break.  All other days will be covered except for these two days.

Thank you for your patience as we continue through this time.  Please remember to take preventative measures as we work together to keep our community safe.
